Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all NERC CIP compliance requirements for which the Generation Owner is the responsible entity. The position coordinates activities and ensures CIP compliance processes are in process execution and evidence collection. Other CIP activities may include root cause analysis, audit preparation, self-reports, mitigation plans, audit data request, and other NERC CIP activities. The successful candidate will be expected to promote an understanding of compliance responsibilities for the organization, facilitate education and training to achieve and sustain compliance success and enhance the Culture of Compliance within the organization. This position supports the personnel managing the assets which contain assets with a Medium and Low Impact rating. The candidate will also be expected to stay current and acquire information on best practices that can be implemented in support of our Reliability functions. Requirements
Responsibilities
- Provides support and contributes to the on-going strategy of the NERC CIP compliance program to meet regulatory and company requirements
- Demonstrates broad knowledge of NERC CIP compliance controls, regulatory matters, and business applications
- Serves as an interface between Stakeholders, team members, business units, support groups, contractors, and vendors to ensure appropriate communication and problem resolution
- Provides good customer support to deliver compliance results to internal and external parties
- Consults with peers on compliance investigations or other content for upper management regarding regulatory and/or compliance matters
- Communicates problems and resolutions to team, and escalates compliance recommendations to peers
- Participates and/or coordinates in necessary meeting forums and subject matter to communicate compliance requirements
- Proactively engages in training and development programs to improve and maintain job performance and promote professional growth and development
- Motivates program and project participants to work as a cohesive team within their work unit, department, and company to meet the needs and expectations of the CIP compliance program and processes
- Performs daily compliance work as assigned
- Participates or manages projects to include identification, resolution, and escalation as needed
- Supports and/or performs technical project work as needed to complete project deliverables
- Identify areas for improvement and take action to resolve
- Provides input on process improvements to NERC CIP Compliance program
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in cybersecurity, cybersecurity compliance, or regulatory environment applicable to power generation or related field
- Experience with NERC CIP standards, requirements, and evidence
- Experience with CIP specific audit skills, controls, cyber and physical security, and related industry regulatory issues
- Working knowledge of control centers & related assets, and associated physical & cyber policies, practices, and procedures
- Understanding of basic principles of Bulk Electric System (BES) Cyber Systems and impact rating application
